Rotterdam Concerto is a project initiated by De Doelen in Rotterdam whereby a new concerto for an unusual or underexposed instrument is commissioned and performed by Sinfonia Rotterdam. Rotterdam Concerto no.2 is a concerto for iPad and orchestra composed by Ned McGowan called Electronic Realms. Premiered on the 1st of June 2012 in De Doelen by Sinfonia Rotterdam, conductor Conrad van Alphen and iPad soloist Keiko Shichijo.
The commission was financially supported by Nederlands Fonds Podiumkunsten
Sinfonia Rotterdam conducted by Conrad van Alphen with soloist Eva Stegeman (violin) perform Oblivion by Piazzolla as an encore to their concert in The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in August 2010.
